[Character]Refreshing citrus and herb character from kuromoji make this traditional Wit uniquely Japanese.[Food Pairing]Pickled fish, Thai stir fry, sansho pepper, yakitori[Naming]The Belgian Wit (or "white") is unsurprisingly popular. It's hazy light colour and white frothy head combine with fruity sweet aroma and its soft wheaty mouthfeel. If there was ever a beer style that conjures daydreaming, surely it is this one.[Brewer's Voice]Trying to improve on classic beers is usually a fools errand. Instead, with beers in this series we strive to reinterpret traditional styles of Belgium. Instead of the typical orange and coriander, we looked for more local inspiration in the use of kuromoji. Kuromoji shares many of the same essential oils as hops and citrus fruit while also adding a herbal character that deepens the flavor. If Wit had been invented in Japan, it certainly would have tasted like this!StyleBelgian WitSeriesrediscoveryABV4.5%IBU15Gas Volume2.7MaltPilsner, Malted Oats, Flaked Wheat, Sour MaltHopAlamis, Spalter YeastYeast LightningOthersKuromojiCategoryBeerJAN4589718740904Best Before2022/06/14
