Our 9th anniversary beer, a commemorative Belgian Strong ale with depth and nuance

[Character]
Brown sugar enhances the rich flavour of this 9% Belgian Strong, to which we added bourbon wood cubes to add further depth and character. Okinawan pepper adds a little spicy nuance while not overpowering, allowing the dry fruit from the yeast, malt, and the barrels to be enjoyed.

[Naming]
"Sansankudo" is a custom unique to Japan where, during a wedding ceremony, sake is sipped and a vow is signed. It acts as a promise, but also an assurance of the relationship and the connections. As we celebrate our 9th anniversary, we would like to raise a toast to thank those who has supported us, and also reassert our commitment to connections we have made, and which we value.

Thanks to our friends, family, and the craft beer community of breweries and beer fans, we have made it to 9 years. We've gained many experiences, both good and bad, but have always enjoyed raising a glass, and sharing a pint with others.

This time, we went for a characterful recipe true to our Belgian yeast roots, that will hopefully leave an impression. A 9% strong ale to celebrate our 9 years, we went for a traditional recipe but used brown sugar to support the caramel malt's rich body, and bring out the flavour of the base malt.

We added hibachi, an Okinawan pepper with a scent reminiscent of cinnamon and a touch of black pepper, along with bourbon barrel cubes with a vanilla like touch along with the dry fruitiness and spice from the bourbon that compliments similar notes from the yeast. We hope you enjoy these multiple layers as the beer warms up.
