27 months of aging in whisky barrels created this most impactful of imperial stouts

The base beer was brewed together in September 2019 when our friends were in town for the Mikkeler Beer Celebration Tokyo. Special ingredients include Okinawan brown sugar as well as natural brown sugar and a 16 hour boil provided extra complexity and a higher ABV. The entire batch was put into domestic whiskey barrels and aged for 27 months, producing what is by far the most complex and intense Imperial Stout we have made to date.
