This year's Fuyu no Kimagure incorporates a similar malt bill as last year (20% wheat and 10% oats), but the hops though have shifted to a unique blend of citrus-centric varieties: Zythos, Belma, and Galaxy. Zythos is actually a blend of hops created with new world IPAs in mind: tangerine and pineapple dominate with a hint of pine. Belma is a new hop from a small, family run farm in Washington state and layers flavours of tropical oranges. Galaxy, the now quintessential Australian hop, rounds out the mix with hints of passionfruit. All of this hop flavour layered on such a soft, juicy base, combined with just 5.5% ABV makes for the perfect companion to the long drinking season ahead. Bottoms up!
